15TH ANNUAL STONE SOUP - Sat, May 8, 2010, 12:00-5:00 pm
This East Vancouver tradition celebrates Spring, food, culture and the environment. Artists, farmers and crafters will have tables set up in the Napier Greenway. Vendors can get their applications from the Britannia Info Centre or call 604-718-5825 for more info.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING OF THE BRITANNIA SOCIETY

Consider standing for the Board of Directors and attend our next AGM. All Britannia Society members are invited to attend. In order to run for the Board of Management you must be:
- at least 16 years of age by May 26
- a member of the Britannia Society 14 days prior to the meeting on May 26
- living or working in the Britannia area
Information on standing for election to the Britannia Board is available by calling Cynthia Low, Executive Director at Britannia Centre, at 604-718-5815. If you're not interested in running for the Board, come to the meeting and support those in the community who sit on the Britannia Board.

VANCOUVER DRAW DOWN - Fri, Jun 11 to Sun, Jun 13, 2010
"Get drawn in!"
The inaugural Vancouver Draw Down features expanded ideas of drawing, participatory city-wide projects, multi-disciplinary events and documentary pieces. Museums, galleries, community centres and arts organizations across the city will present exhibitions and collaborative drawing projects of all shapes and sizes, including a city-wide public drawing project. Whether you join us to draw with your pen on ragpaper or your bicycle wheels on the sidewalk, we challenge you to engage and perform, to throw down your pencil and declare, "I can draw!" Look for our Button Making Workshop - TBA.
Participants: City of Vancouver, Drawn: Vancouver Drawing Festival Society, Roundhouse Community Arts & Recreation Centre, Simon Fraser University School for the Contemporary Arts, Vancouver Art Gallery, Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation, UBC Museum of Anthropology.

ARTFUL SUNDAYS - Sun, Aug 8-Sep 5, 2010, 12:00-5:00 pm
Call for artists. Again this summer Britannia will host an outdoor, mixed media, visual arts market in Napier Square (at Commercial Drive) featuring the work of local artists, live music, artist workshops, demonstrations and more. Artist application forms will be available at the Britannia Info Centre starting May 1st. Tents, tables and chairs are provided. Contact Katherine Polgrain at courage@vcn.bc.ca or leave a message for her at Britannia at 604-718-5800. $30 artist table fee.

GRANDVIEW WOODLAND AREA COUNCIL
The Area Council is a residents association open to anyone living and/or working in Grandview Woodland, the area bounded by Burrard Inlet, Broadway, Clark Drive and Nanaimo Street. GWAC focuses on local issues and advocates for positive change, informing the community about issues and problem-solving around those issues. The Board of Directors and interested residents meet at the Info Centre Office at 1661 Napier Street.
1st Monday/month (or 2nd Monday if 1st Monday is a holiday), 7:00-9:00 pm
