The winter solstice marks the gentle shift of our planet’s eternal relationship with the sun. This dance of sun and earth has inspired celebrations of the human spirit, expressed through art and music, throughout
the ages.Our own annual Winter Solstice Lantern Festival honours traditions from diverse cultures and is celebrated in six Vancouver neighbourhoods. illuminating the longest, darkest night of the year with a multicultural
array of lanterns, fire, singing, dancing, music and storytelling.
