INSTRUCTOR PROFILES


Judy Cashmorehas studied and performed in a range of movement forms for over 30 years, including ballet, jazz dance, modern dance, traditional fitness, tai chi, bellydance, and 5Rhythms. A student of Nia since 1999, Judy is now a Black Belt teacher, and deeply enjoys having developed a committed community of dancers with whom she continues to learn. As a teacher, she is inspiring and infectious, playful and powerful, and her students are drawn to her compassion, presence, and authenticity. Through classes and international retreats, Judy is excited to share the possibilities for health and personal growth through Nia's invitation to know ourselves more deeply, to express ourselves more fully, and to enjoy being "at home" in our own body.


Keith Lehman is a full time ceramic artist and has been working with clay for over 14 years. He rec ei ved a BA from Goshen College in Indiana and studied ceramics at Capilano College in North Vancouver. His work ranges from unique tableware deign to one of a kind sculptural forms and can be seen at Kingsmill studio Pottery in Granville Islands' Net Loft building or on his website at www.poplarstudio.ca

 

 


Maggie ReaghMaggie Reagh, MA in Teaching, Yoga Teacher Trainer (E-RYT) and Certified Yoga Therapist (CYT) conducts private and semi-private Yoga Therapy classes as well as Therapeutic/Ayurvedic Yoga Teacher trainings/workshops for Yoga Works, YYOGA, Semperviva, and her own program in Vancouver. She also runs the Therapeutic Yoga program at Capilano University where, in addition, she is an instructor and the coordinator of their English for Academic Purposes programs. She started her Yogic studies in the Krishnamacharya lineage in Vancouver in 1995 before going to the Parakala Mutt in Mysore, India in 2000 with BNS Iyengar. She went on to study with the Desikachar family in Chennai, India as well as with the Kraftsows on Maui for the next four years. She continues her studies with DV and Radha Sridhar, Viji Vasu, and Dr. Ganesh in Chennai, India. She also studies with Lindsay Whalen, Iyengar Yoga Therapist, in Vancouver with whom she is running her own 1000 hour Therapeutic Yoga Teacher Training program. Brian Ruhe, author of Freeing the Buddha, has an insight into Buddhism and meditation that can only be had by someone who practiced and studied seriously in a Tibetan Buddhist Centre, was a monk in Thailand, and was the public relations official for the largest Chinese Pure Land Buddhist temple in Canada. A Buddhist since 1991, Brian trains in the Theravada Forest tradition and he spent a short time in the monkhood in Thailand where he was trained as a Vipassana meditation instructor. Brian has taught thousands of people at temples, community colleges and adult ed. courses around the Vancouver area for 10 years and he is also a personal coach. Ron Stelting has been facilitating Rhythm Events on the West Coast and Hawaii for almost 10 years. He has been playing drums professionally for over 25 years. He brings a joy of drumming and an energetic personality to his Drum Circles. You will have FUN. He has been leading the Winter Solstice Procession for almost a dozen years.You have to be a bit crazy to be drumming outside in the middle of December but there have been hundreds and hundreds of participants over the years. Chloe UlisChloe Ulis is a professional artist and art Instructor with a life-long background in the arts. Chloe has a Bachelor of Media Arts degree from the Emily Carr Institute, where she studied fine arts, multi-media art installation, creative processes, painting, and art history. Chloe is an expert painter with over 15 years of experience in oil and acrylic painting. Chloe also studied painting at the Langley Fine Arts School. Chloe earned 4 scholarships for her artistic achievements from the Peninsula Arts Foundation and 2 scholarships from The Ministry of Education.
Throughout her life Chloe has studied classical and mixed media painting, mural design, interior design, web design, bookbinding, writing, music, multi-media art installation, and many other forms of artistic expression. Chloe is passionate about bringing out the creativity in others. As an art teacher she has taught throughout Vancouver and White Rock, at venues such as the West End Community Centre, False Creek Community Centre, the Dream Academy after school program, and the Four Winds Hill Art Studio.
Chloe Ulis School of Art offers unique art classes that focus on personal goals and one-on-one coaching. Our classes assist students to develop personal style, self-exploration, and artistic technique. Bahareh Zolfaghari has an Italian Language Instructor Certificate from Universita Per Stranieri Di Siena, Italy and has more than 10 years experience as an Italian instructor. She has taught both group and private lessons throughout the lower mainland including at C.A.S.I., the Italian Language School.
