The vision behind the Killarney Computer Lab was to create a place where people who do not have access to a computer in the community could come and take advantage of "community computers".

At the same time, knowing the growing importance of computer technology in today's world, we wanted to offer the community access to computer courses to develop and enhance computer skills.

We have 11 stations in the computer lab including a printer that is accessible by all stations. Each stations is a Personal Desktop Computer on a Windows 2000 operating system. All stations are equipped with Microsoft Office applications which include Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Access. Of course internet access is provided at every station so that users able to "surf" the world wide web.

Killarney Computer Lab is sustained through funding from the Killarney Community Centre Society and the Community Access Program through the Federal Government, which is monitored by the Vancouver Community Network.
