Renfrew Preschool
Operated jointly by the Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation and the Renfrew Park Community Association
Philosophy
Our philosophy is to provide a positive, happy, safe, and productive learning environment for children of all developmental levels. Through a wide range of activities the children are given opportunities to problem solve by making choices and decisions for themselves which promotes a healthy self-esteem.
Introduction
We would like to take this opportunity to welcome your family to Renfrew Preschool. We look forward to sharing in your child's growth and learning. If you have any concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to contact the preschool supervisor at (604) 257-8391
Licensing
Renfrew Preschool is licensed under the Community Care and Assisted Living Act and Child Care Licensing Regulation. The preschool complies by all rules and requirements set out by the Act and Regulation.
Guiding & Caring
We strive to create a happy, caring environment where there is a healthy respect for the rights of others and their property, while acknowledging the rights and feelings of each individual. We encourage the children to talk through their own problems and conflicts, and to make appropriate choices and compromises. However, if a child seems unable to cope in a situation, the staff will redirect that child to a new play area, or ask the individual to sit out until he or she can behave appropriately or provide them with a logical or reasonable consequence for the inappropriate behaviour. Consistency between the home and the Centre is very important in this area. Please feel free to discuss concerns and questions with the supervisor .
Staffing
All staff are fully qualified Early Childhood Educators (E.C.E.).
