Bellyfit is a fusion fitness class for women that offers a full body, highly effective exercise experience! In the first half, expect to burn mega calories, relieve stress and get the sweat flowing with fun, easy to learn cardio moves infused with the ancient and beautiful fundamentals of Bellydance, Bollywood, Bhangra, and African Dance. In the second half, enjoy the sculpting, toning and tightening of a Pilates inspired core workout, a deep yet relaxing Yoga infused stretch and a mindful Mudra Meditation. Offered in the tried and true format of traditional group fitness, each class is set to the high energy beats of the electronic drum, fused with culturally rich ethno-organic sounds and melodies, giving you an hour that inspires the body, the mind, the spirit, and the heart to reach beyond limitations and into pure transformation. A lifelong yoga and fitness enthusiast, Loretta Laurin is a certified Bellyfit
instructor who brings passion and celebration nto all of her classes.
She has certifications in Liberal Arts and Sustainable Community
Development, and is currently studying Applied Human Nutrition and Religious Studies at Simon Fraser University. She briefly studied traditional forms of Indian dance at Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi; and continues to learn about different ways of moving every day. Loretta is very active in her community, advocating for women’s rights and other social and environmental justice causes. Her goal is to use fitness as a way of empowering people to find confidence in their minds and bodies, and to build vibrant healthy communities. Practice mindfulness to calm your busy and anxious minds and free yourself from discursive thoughts, mental chatter, impulsivity, stress, anxiety and worries. Practicing mindfulness can enhance
your life at home and at work. We will practice mindfulness of breathing as well as other mindfulness techniques that you can use in your daily activities. Since it is often challenging for
beginners to practice mindfulness alone, it is very helpful to meet other practitioners and practice mindfulness with others. You will benefit from the support of a community of practitioners and an
experienced teacher. Both beginners and experienced are

Mindful Walking 16+ yrs
We are often absent during our walk, lost in thoughts about the past and future rather than attentive to our walking in the present moment. You will learn how to practice mindfulness while walking and bring your mind back to the present moment. You will learn and practice various mindful walking techniques. The mindfulness practice allows you to discover and experience richness of present
moment so that you enjoy more of your walk. No previous
knowledge of mindfulness is required.

Sung Yang is an experienced mindfulness teacher. He began
practicing mindfulness in the late 1970s and has taught mindfulness to people from almost all walks of life. His teachings are based on the
science. The mindfulness techniques that he teaches are effective and
usually easy enough to learn within a minute. He is also serving the
Canadian Mental Health Association, the South Fraser branch, as a
director.
Zumba 16+ yrs
Zumba is a fusion of Latin and International music-dance themes creating a dynamic, exciting, effective fitness system! The
routines feature a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body. The easy-to-follow steps are fun and designed for everyone at any fitness level. Zumba’s choreography
incorporates: cumbia, salsa, merengue, mambo, flamenco, chacha, reggaeton, soca, samba, belly dancing, bhangra, hip hop music and axé music. No class on Oct 4.

Luly Garza loves dancing. She was born and raised in Mexico, where she was surrounded by music and dance all the time. She started dancing when she was 5 years old and she hasn`t stopped since! She grew up dancing ballet, jazz, Latin and modern rhythms, but just discovered Zumba a couple of years ago when she moved to Vancouver. She loved zumba so much that she decided to become an instructor in order to promote the zumba revolution and share her passion with others. Luly loves teaching
Zumba because it`s a combination of all her passions: fitness, dancing and helping others feel happy and good about themselves. Luly is very

Arsenio Chua has been practicing and competing locally and
internationally in Tai Chi for more than 10 years. He has won Gold, Silver and Bronze in Tai Chi Quan and Tai Chi Sword. In 2010 he participated in the Hong Kong 8th Wushu Competition in Tai Chi Fan and won a Gold Medal. He is knowledgeable in 5 styles of Tai Chi Quan (Yang Style, Chen Style, Wu Style, Woo Style and Sun Style). He is fluent in English and Mandarin.

Karate Beginner Children and Family 6+ yrs
Have fun while learning traditional Go-Ju Ryu Karate taught by 7th Dan Shihan George Chan (over 28 years of experience) and 4th Dan Sensei Ivan Cheng. This program improves focus
and self-discipline. Students learn at their own pace and gain confidence for all with mini-tests to determine progress
levels. This program is also recognized by the School Board as a Physical Education credit and is tax deductible by Revenue
Canada. Please note that George encourages parents to

Shihan George Chan brought the Ku Yu Kai style to Canada and has spread its traditional Go Ju Ryu techniques to dojos in
Vancouver’s lower mainland. With over 30 years of teaching
experience, he has taught thousands of students of all ages, as well as being involved in coaching and judging competitions throughout BC.
Sports
Chris Wright has been playing badminton for over 25 years, initially taught by his father in the Okanagan. Chris played provincially and nationally with colleges in the Lower Mainland. He was coached at one time by the 16th ranked player in the world and was among the top-three ranked singles players in the BCCAA. He is trained as a Canadian nationally certified coach, and currently trains and competes in the Lower Mainland. He has been teaching badminton for more than seven years.
Nina Houghton is a professional dog trainer and owner of Alpha Dog
Training. A graduate from the International College of Canine Behavioural Sciences in North Vancouver with three levels of training from basic to
advanced, as well as agility and recreational tracking. Well mannered dogs are not born that way, they are created through positive leadership and guidance with consistent and regular training from their human pack.
