The legacy of the Games Four new facilities were built for use as venues and then turned over to the Park Board and the community for use: Trout Lake and Killarney rinks, Vancouver Olympic/Paralympic Centre and a new community centre at Southeast False Creek. These facilities will serve as a lasting recreation legacy to Vancouver and to the communities they serve. So while the Games are over we hope you enjoy our new facilities and recall the excitement of the Winter Games each time you visit. Killarney Ice Rink2010 Games training venue for short-track speed skating. The rink will reopen in May 2010. Vancouver Olympic Centre/Vancouver Paralympic CentreAquatic Centre opening summer 2010. Was home to curling and wheelchair curling competition events. Trout Lake Ice Rink2010 Games training venue for figure skating. The rink reopened in April 2010 for dry floor activities. Creekside Community Recreation Centre and parksOpening July 2010. Served as administrative and commercial hub of Athletes Village during the Games. Public art
