Hot Spots for Kids in Stanley Park

August 26, 2005 - The last week of summer can be an in-between time for children who are looking forward to seeing old friends when school starts but still holding on to what remains of their summer freedom. Summer vacations and kids are perfectly paired and one or the other usually leads the way to new adventure. But with only about ten days to go, with the clock ticking away, children need a little help to keep their schedules filled with the last sweet sips of summer bounty.

Vancouver's premier public greenspace, Stanley Park, offers a magical location for visiting children. Celebrating its 117th anniversary this year as a protected publicpark, Stanley Park's wooden heart can get the hearts of children pumping with delight and anticipation, especially in and around the Lumbermen's Arch area.

Plan an afternoon out for the kids this week, bring a blanket and beach chairs, pack a lunch or grab a burger from the famous Lumbermen's Arch Concession stand which still sizzles up some of the best fish & chips in town. While you're ensconced in the area, make sure not to miss the following attractions:
