Events
The Vancouver Park Board hosts a variety of events to thank and recognize donors.
Kitsilano Beach Park Accessible Playground
On December 11, 2010, the Vancouver Park Board celebrated the opening of the city’s largest fully accessible playground. It is one of three showcase inclusive playgrounds built in the 2010 Winter Games host communities of Vancouver, Whistler and Richmond. This new playground enables children of all abilities to play side-by-side with their siblings, friends, families and caregivers.

Cherry Tree Planting at David Lam Park
On July 28, 2010, the Vancouver Park Board hosted an event to honour the David & Dorothy Lam Foundation for its generous gift of 100 cherry trees.
"The cherry tree keeps its promise to burst forth with blossoms, doing its best to use every part of itself. When it is finished, every blossom can shed like snow, having delivered fully indeed, the cherry tree is a fitting symbol of responsible living. Be like the cherry tree. When you promise to do something, give it all you've got."
— Dr. David Lam
A Walk in the Park

Each year we invite our donors to learn more about their favourite park by offering guided tours. A Walk In the Park provides an opportunity for you to learn first-hand how your donation is helping to provide for a diverse range of park conservation and forest ecology projects.
