Park Board Strategic Plan
The Vancouver Park Board is in the second phase of updating its Strategic Plan, and is inviting Vancouver residents to learn more at an upcoming information meeting.
The Plan will guide and prioritize the Board’s actions and resources over the next five years and help it deliver industry-leading parks and recreation services.
In phase one, the organization engaged our Board, staff, key stakeholders and the public at large to update our strategic framework. The renewed framework includes a mission that describes core Park Board activities; a long-term vision that describes what the Park Board strives to become in the future; and four directions and nine goals to help the Park Board achieve this vision.
In phase two of the process the Board identified 25 draft objectives to guide implementation efforts. Residents can learn more about these draft objectives at an information meeting. The meeting provides residents with an opportunity to ask questions and share their thoughts. Public participation and feedback play an important role in the Board’s future direction and priorities. |

Hastings Park - Have Your Say
Open House: New Park Spaces and Greenways
Please join City of Vancouver staff at the second in a series of open
houses and help shape new park spaces in Hastings Park.
- See how initial public feedback has helped shape park concepts.
- Provide further input on the next stages of the park design.
This project is a result of the Hastings Park/PNE Master Plan adopted by City Council in 2010. The Master Plan outlines a plan to transform
Hastings Park into a greener, year-round destination that provides
improved community access, significant additional park space, and
renewed facilities for the annual PNE Fair, Playland and other festivals
and events.
Park spaces illustrated at this open house:
- Empire Field - synthetic turf for community use
- Connection to New Brighton - greenways for walking, jogging and cycling
- Creekway Park and the daylighted stream
- Plateau Park - a multi-use sports park
If you are unable to attend the event, open house materials and a questionnaire will be available online at: http://vancouver.ca/pnepark/ |
