Picnic Bookings Frequently Asked QuestionsCasual Use: No Permit Required1. Can I have a picnic if I do not have a permit? Yes, as long is it is not on the list of reservable sites. When using other park areas, there are many tables available on a first come, first serve basis. Your group must be less than 50 people (less than 25 at Maple Grove). If your group is larger than 50 (but less than 150) you must book a picnic site using our online reservation service. Please read question #3 before heading to the park! 2. My group is less than 50 people, can I still apply for a permit online? Yes! A permit is not required (but possible) when your group is less than 50 people. If your group is larger than 50 people, you must book a picnic site using our online reservation service. 3. What equipment is allowed, and can I BBQ? You may bring blankets, lawn chairs, a BBQ and one small table. Your BBQ must be 30" from the ground and full clean up is required. Coals must be doused with cold water and removed. If there is an extreme fire warning you cannot use charcoal (propane only). No BBQs on the sandy beach areas, and no fires allowed at any time. 4. What if I need a "picnic permit" for a location that is not on the list? You could fill out a special events application 5. Can I have a caterer? No caterers allowed unless you have a picnic permit. This can be done using our online reservation service 6. Can I have music at my site? There is no amplification allowed. You may use a small CD player at a low level. 7. Is alcohol permitted? No alcohol is allowed at any picnic site. |
