Background

In 2009 the Lower Mainland endured a memorable heat wave. The Kerrisdale Seniors Centre was particularly affected. The members decided their facility should be air conditioned and ready for the next heat wave.

The Kerrisdale Seniors Centre financed the $55,000 cost of the equipment and the Park Board designed, tendered and is managing the installation of the cooling system.

This setup will utilize the existing variable air volume (VAV) system which will provide optimum cooling to the Kerrisdale Seniors Centre. Project completion is expected by late March of 2010.
