Vancouver Sport Hosting Grant application deadline is September 30

August 27, 2010 (No. 39) - The Vancouver Sport Hosting Grant provides $200,000 in grant funds per year to support hosting of sporting events. Consideration is given to events that have the potential to bring significant economic, social, health and community development benefits to Vancouver, advance civic priorities and/or ensure needed legacies.

Previous events funded through the Vancouver Sport Hosting Grant include World Police and Fire Games, Kits Fest, Vancouver International Soccer Festival, Vancouver Girls Basketball Association Tournament and MoreSports Soccer Jam.

Event organizers are encouraged to apply for one of the three grant categories best suited to their event. Visit vancouverparks.ca for additional information, assessment guidelines and application forms. The deadline to apply is September 30, 2010.
