Directions

VanDusen Botanical Garden is located at 5251 Oak Street at West 37th Avenue (north west corner).

If you are driving:
If you are coming into Vancouver on Hwy 99 from the south (Richmond, Ladner, Delta & USA) you should know that Highway 99 becomes Oak Street once you cross the bridge from Richmond into Vancouver. Oak is crossed by consecutively numbered avenues. Proceed north along Oak Street to reach West 37th (about 36 blocks). The last major intersection before you reach VanDusen is at West 41st Avenue. It is controlled with traffic lights in all directions. Proceed straight through the intersection four more blocks north to West 37th. At W.37th there is a pedestrian controlled light, make a left onto W.37th then a sharp right into our parking lot and you're here.

If you are driving to VanDusen from downtown Vancouver:
Proceed east along Nelson Street onto the Cambie Street Bridge. Once on the other side of the bridge proceed straight on Cambie Street until you reach West 33rd Avenue. It's a major intersection controlled by traffic lights. Turn right onto West 33rd and proceed west along W.33 until you reach Oak Street (about 5 blocks). Turn left onto Oak, proceed south four blocks and turn right onto West 37th, then turn right to enter our parking lot. You're here!

If you are driving into Vancouver from the east along Hwy #1:
Take the Grandview Highway exit (Grandview eventually becomes 12th Avenue). Travel west and turn left (south) on Oak Street. At West 37th Avenue, turn right (west) and enter the VanDusen Garden parking lot.

If you are taking public transport:
From downtown Vancouver, take #17 Oak bus. Please check with Translink for the bus stop nearest to your location that services the #17 Oak bus. Detailed information on all transit routes can be obtained by calling 604.953.3333 or visit TransLink’s web site at www.translink.bc.ca . Ask the driver to let you off at West 37th Avenue. Once at West 37th Avenue, cross the street and we’re right there. Depending on traffic and where you embark, you should allow 20 minutes once you have boarded the bus.
