Play Fields - View Schedules and ReserveArtificial Turf
Artificial turf carries four to five times the "play time" as a grass field. They are virtually weather proof, do not require rest (no play) periods and have no limitations of the number of hours allowable for play each day. Each field is equipped with high mast lighting for evening use through the fall, winter and spring when daylight is limited. A software program turns the lights on when fields are booked and off when not, and ensures there are no lights on past 11 pm. This practice is consistent with most municipalities in the Lower Mainland and across North America. You can view the schedules for artificial turf fields and request a reservation for simple bookings. A simple booking is a reservation for one field with a consistent time and day. Reservations will be looked at by Park Board staff and approved or denied based on availability. The schedule will tell you what is already booked. Note that fields are sometimes unavailable due to maintenance or other situations. Online reservations will only be accepted between October 1 and February 28 for fall/winter bookings, and between May 1 and August 31 for spring/summer bookings. With the recent addition of four state-of-the-art artificial turf fields at Jericho, Memorial South and Trillium parks, Vancouver now has a total of nine premium level play facilities.
