Partnership opportunity for artist housing and production space

We have asked housing operators to partner with an arts and culture non-profit organization to operate and manage the artist housing and production space at 1847 Main Street. The purpose of this notice is to make local non-profit arts and cultural organizations aware of this potential partnership opportunity.

The project space includes:

  • 30 units of social housing for low-income, Vancouver-based professional artists
  • 372 square metres (4,000 square feet) of shared artist production space

Housing operators

We have issued a request for proposal (RFP) to a shortlist of prequalified social housing operators. 

Housing operators are asked to identify an arts and culture organization that they would like to partner with and complete the RFP by September 15, 2017.

Full details of the project and the submission requirements are provided in the RFP.

Arts and culture non-profit organizations

You will play a key role in both the tenant selection process and management of the shared artist production space. 

To partner with a housing operator, you must:

  • Be registered as a non-profit organization (incorporated as a society, co-op, charitable organization, or First Nations band council) in good standing 
  • Have a history of quality arts and cultural programming and space operation in Vancouver
