June 22, 2011 - I.R.I.T. Update - More People Turn Themselves In
The Integrated Riot Investigation Team (I.R.I.T.) looking into the June 15th riot has expanded with the addition of 15 members from the RCMP. With the addition of these RCMP officers, the VPD lead team is now comprised of more than 30 police officers from around the region.
To date, 18 people have turned themselves in to investigators and more charges are expected in coming days.

Multiple investigations are currently underway into the criminal activities of the people responsible for looting and mischief in the downtown core overnight.

Please note that investigators strive to keep all statistics and numbers as accurate and up-to-date as possible, but due to the volume of suspects and offences, numbers indicated are subject to change.
The response from the public wanting to help the police identify the individuals involved in criminal activity that occurred after Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals on the night of June 15, 2011 has been tremendous.
We are grateful for everyone’s help and have included instructions below for anyone wanting to share videos or pictures with our investigators.

We ask that you make copies of your digital pictures or videos and burn them to a CD or DVD. It is important that you keep the memory card that contains these pictures or videos, in case we need to examine them further. If these pictures or videos are stored on your cell phone itself, please do not delete them.
