WOMEN'S SAFETY FAIR

Event Details

The Vancouver Police Department and community partners held the second annual Women's Safety Fair on February 8, 2013 at Langara College. The fair featured a women's only personal safety demonstration by VPD tactical training specialists, and numerous information booths sponsored by community experts in personal safety and support services.

Attendees were invited to stop by the many booths that were sponsored by partner agencies. They heard from dedicated experts who provided practical support and information to people affected by domestic violence, child abuse, sexual offences, street-level violence, elder abuse, internet luring and more.

There were community discussions relating to ways that we as a community can challenge violence against women, as well as interactive personal safety demonstrations from experts in the field.
