SUPERINTENDENT CITA AIRTH

Superintendent Cita AirthSuperintendent Cita Airth was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, and completed a diploma in civil engineering at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology. She joined the Vancouver Police Department in 1992, and as a constable, she worked in Patrol, Strike Force, General Investigation, Robbery / Assault, and Homicide.

Superintendent Airth was promoted to sergeant in 2007, where she lead teams in Patrol, Sex Crimes and Homicide.

In 2011, she was promoted to inspector and spent the next four years overseeing the Special Investigation Section. She worked collaborative with many community partners, implemented some innovative programs, such as the Women's Safety Fair, and worked together with internal and external stakeholders to write the Sex Work Enforcement Guidelines. She was also a key partner at the table to help implement the child and Youth Advocacy Centre.

In 2015, Superintendent Airth was the Inspector in charge of the Major Crime Section before being promotoed to Superintendent in 2016. She is currently seconded to the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU), and is a provincially accredited Team Commander.

Superintendent Airth is currently completing her master of arts degree in leadership at Royal Roads University.

CFSEU

Superintendent Cita Airth will be seconded to CFSEU, the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit.

CFSEU is a provincial policing agency whose mandate is to target, investigate, prosecute, disrupte, and dismantle the organized crime groups and individuals who pose the highest risk to public safety due to their involvement in gang violence.
