Investigative Services

Investigative Services is under the command of Superintendent M.Porteous, with approximately 167 authorized sworn positions and 18 civilian staff in both support and specialized roles.

Investigative Services encompasses four Sections: Major Crime, Special Investigation, Forensic Services, and Operations Investigative. Each of the units in these four Sections have specialized and highly trained investigators who use their expertise, knowledge and skills to conduct both follow-up investigations on cases initiated by patrol members, and also self-initiated proactive investigations to address serious crime and community issues.
