Turn your food scraps into compost: Help make Vancouver greener
If you live in Riley Park and Sunset, you may have been selected for the expanded food scraps pilot program.
In the expaned pilot program, you can add more food scraps to your compostables cart than what was previously allowed. If your house is in the pilot program, you will receive a notice in the mail and on your cart prior to the start of the program.

Please note: The City does not provide this collection service to most multi-unit residences, such as apartments and condominiums, unless your building already has a City yard trimmings cart and only if the cart is filled mostly with yard trimmings and a small percentage of food scraps. The City is not able to provide food scraps collection service to businesses, unless they are part of the pilot program. We have compiled a list of private companies that can provide food waste collection services to your building.
