How do I get a different size yard trimmings/food scraps cart or garbage cart?

How much does it cost to exchange my cart?

You can change the size of your garbage or yard trimmings cart for free once a year. Any subsequent changes within the calendar year would result in a fee of $25 for each additional garbage and yard trimmings cart.

Please note: Additional cart requests are free for Riley Park/ Sunset pilot participants.

What size of cart is available for yard trimmings/food scraps collection?

The following sizes are available for yard trimmings/food scraps:

• 120 litres
• 180 litres
• 240 litres
• 360 litres

Please note that the 75 litre size is only available for garbage and not for yard trimmings/food scraps.

How can I find my cart size?

1. Look at the serial number on the front of your cart

   Carts starting with the letter:

   • B = 75 litres or 120 litres (same size cart but the 75 litres has a black insert which makes it smaller)
   • C = 180 litres
   • D = 240 litres
   • E = 360 litres
2. Look on your tax statement

   Follow the directions to view your Vancouver Property Tax Info Report. The section named "Property Tax levy Details" provides this information.
