Food scraps collection schedule
Combined food scraps and yard trimmings will be collected bi-weekly as per your current yard trimmings collection schedule.
If you are a part of the pilot program, food scraps and yard trimmings will be collected weekly and garbage will be collected bi-weekly in order to minimize odours and insects from decomposing meat, fish and dairy scraps.

If your cart was not picked up
If your yard trimmings cart wasn’t picked up on your collection day, there are several possible explanations. Once you lodge a query with us, our goal is to remedy the problem within 48 hours.
Please ask yourself:
- Was your cart filled too full?
- Was your lid open?
- Was there an obstruction preventing the truck from lifting your cart?
- Was your cart placed by the curb by 7 am?
- Was your cart out on your regular collection day?

The two colour-coded neighbourhoods (Riley Park and Sunset) are part of the pilot program. Using your mouse, pan to the desired zone and zoom in to the neighbourhood you selected using the locator tool in the top right corner of the map to find if your street is part of the pilot program. You can print the detailed map or the collection schedule for your area, using the print map button on the upper left-hand side.
