Definition:
The Water Bodies layer displays from the original map view to a scale of 1:100,001 and shows a generalization of the water bodies surrounding Vancouver. Once the scale is larger than 1:100,001 Water Bodies is replaced by the Shore Lines (1999) and Sea layer. This layer was digitized from orthophotos taken in 1999 and it's purpose is to show sea boundaries. For accurate shore line display use the Shore Lines (2002) layer which is always visible.
