Candidate Mike Hansen"Applied Democracy" in the 21st Century. This is the very same system large corporation operate under. Shareholders want to know their moneys/investments are safe! A billion dollar corporation comparable to Vancouver, provides mandatory quarterly reports and AGMs, to enforce accountability an transparency. A facilitator of "Applied Democracy" swears an oath to The Voters. Making The Voters the mayor's Councillors, through plebiscites on extra spending. The 'elected Councillors' will become 'Ombudspersons' for The Citizens concerns. As mayor my mandate will be The Voters/Taxpayers best interests. Issuing 'one voting share' certificate in the incorporation of Vancouver. Facilitating "Applied Democracy" in Vancouver will offer the best return for your $tax dollars$! No more out of control spending on travels, galas and "visions of entitlement". As Mayor I won't travel outside of the Vancouver area. Attending meeting by CCTV conferencing! Implementing "budget freezes" at city hall, parks and transit, ensuring accountability and transparency.

    Vision Vancouver

    Candidate statement

Gregor Robertson was elected Mayor of Vancouver in November 2008, and re-elected in November 2011.

Under Mayor Robertson’s leadership the city has seen a record growth in the building of new rental housing and child care spaces, a sharp decline in violent crime, and has won awards for environmental progress. Going forward, his priorities include continuing to address affordability and homelessness, and standing up for the local economy by saying no to Kinder Morgan’s proposal to put 340 more oil tankers in our waters, and yes to a Broadway Subway line.

Prior to entering politics, Gregor co-founded Happy Planet, a socially responsible company that produces organic juices. He was first elected in 2005 as a BC MLA for the riding of Vancouver-Fairview.

Mayor Robertson is a proud father and avid fan of both soccer and hockey.

    Candidate Colin Shandler

I’m standing for Vancouver as an independent candidate for Mayor to return the governance of Vancouver back to its citizens.

The common denominator in all the issues I take with city hall is that they (the mayor) aren’t listening to the collective voice of the city. They try to placate us with line-toeing big media and treat us like we are not aware or don’t need to be respected.

With 19yrs experience as an executive with 3 national, 2 regional brands achieving award winning results, for the last 6 years I have been self-employed as an entrepreneur & restaurateur

I believe in the public and their ability to make informed decisions and express themselves through their vote

An avid trail runner, Co-parent of a Siberian husky, 9 years earning sobriety & sharing my neighbourhood space with artist, writers, non-profits, local musicians, teachers, students, Alcoholics Anonymous, various support groups and you.
