Help with your application

Applying for a job with the City? Here is information to help you navigate the application process.

Job postings

New job postings are added on Wednesdays and Fridays. Postings for short-term, on-call positions (STOC) are updated online every day. Check back often for new opportunities with the City.

Internal applicants

You will be identified as a City employee when you register online using your employee number.

The Vancouver Public Library, Vancouver Police Department, Ray-Cam Co-Operative Centre, and Britannia Community Services Centre are considered separate employers from the City of Vancouver. If you work for any of these organizations, register and apply for City jobs as an external candidate.

If you belong to both unions

Employees who work with both CUPE 15 and CUPE 1004 have two employee numbers and will require two user profiles. Your profile includes your bidding rights - including seniority - so make sure to apply with the relevant profile.

To apply for a CUPE 15 job, register using the employee number shown on your pay advice for CUPE 15 work.

To apply for a CUPE 1004 job, register using the employee number shown on your pay advice for CUPE 1004 work.

Your user name is based on your employee number.  We recommend that you edit your candidate profile to include your CUPE local number in the "Middle Name" field when you register.
