CityStudio Vancouver
CityStudio Vancouver is a hub and center for sustainability education.
The goal of CityStudio Vancouver is to directly involve students, professors, and universities in the implementation of Vancouver’s Greenest City 2020 goals.
About the CityStudio Vancouver program
Student cohorts target Vancouver’s Greenest City goals, such as zero waste, climate leadership, access to nature, and food security.
Through dialogue, community engagement, collaboration across organizations, asset mapping, and demonstration projects, students focus their knowledge and energy on implementing Greenest City goals through coursework.
UBC – City of Vancouver Greenest City Scholars Program
Since 2010, the Greenest City Scholars Program has engaged over 100 graduate students from UBC's Vancouver campus to work and gain experience on a sustainability project with us.
How the program works
The City and UBC's Sustainability Initiative co-fund successful candidates to work with us in support of:
- Greenest City 2020 Action Plan
- Green Operations Plan
- Renewable City Strategy
- Healthy City Strategy
Each successful candidate works at the City for a minimum of 250 hours on one project designed to contribute to our sustainability work.
