The COVID-19 pandemic has affected the way that we work. Many of you have been working remotely, while others have had to adjust to changes to your on-site work environment. Now, we are looking at new ways we can safely resume services and facilities, as we adapt to the "new normal."
Before we make any long-term changes to how we work, we want to hear from you. Please complete this online survey to provide us with valuable information that will inform our planning.
We are looking at what you need to do your job effectively, your personal well-being in your current work environment, and what we can do to make you feel safe. Your input will help us prepare for a safe, supportive workspace. We also want to hear about the challenges you currently face, such as lack of childcare or inadequate desk space, so we can address these issues and find solutions.
Please remember, this does not signal a change right now - we are still continuing to work in our current locations. Any changes will be shared with you well in advance, they will be phased, and done in collaboration across several departments including your own, Human Resources, Real Estate and Facilities Management, and Technology Services. Although we anticipate a phased return for office-based workers starting in September, we will adjust our plans based on guidance from the Provincial Health Officer. We are also mindful that many staff are facing circumstances that would make it difficult to return to the office, and can assure you that we aim to be as flexible as possible as we implement plans to ensure staff have the support they need.
The survey is completely anonymous and the results will be aggregated in a way that protects your privacy. Please ensure you provide us your experience and insight by June 25, and we will update everyone with how we see our approach to our workplaces evolves. If you have any questions, please remember you can email the COVID-19 inbox or speak to your manager.
Thank you for your patience. I know that it has not been easy to adjust to working during the pandemic, and I appreciate your commitment and flexibility.
