VIVA Vancouver launches fourth year of vibrant pedestrian spaces

June 26 2014

Urban Reef - Robson Street

VIVA Vancouver, now in its fourth year, continues to grow in popularity, with new programming for VIVA Granville every weekend this summer. A new installation at 800 Robson Street, and new parklets for you to sit, relax, hang out with friends, and meet your neighbours.

VIVA Robson — Open June 28 to September 1

Vancouver’s summertime plaza at the 800-block of Robson Street will become an “Urban Reef” this summer, thanks to a seating installation created by Kaz Bremner, Jeremiah Deutscher, Michael Siy and Kenneth Navarra, a local team of architects, designers, and carpenters.

VIVA Granville — Every weekend from June 28 to September 1

Granville Street (between Smithe and Hastings streets) will once again become a pedestrian corridor full of community events, homegrown art, live music, performances, and street markets every weekend this summer. This year, over 25 groups and 60 activities will take place over the course of the summer.
