April 1 2015 –

We won best use of social media for our 2014 City Bird Campaign at the Canadian Internet Marketing Awards held in Squamish over the weekend.

The awards coincided with the Canadian Internet Marketing Conference attended by industry leaders and the movers and shakers of internet marketing.

Our winning social media campaign

Our winning social media campaign lasted four weeks promoting online voting for a 2015 Vancouver City Bird. The lighthearted campaign had six birds vying for the most votes and each had its own distinct Twitter handle.

Each account represented the real characteristics of the bird, and drove organic discussions through interaction with top social media influencers, chirps at their competitors, as well as campaigning to the public.

The City Bird Campaign drew huge attention as the #VanCityBird hashtag resulted in about 4,000 tweets from excited Vancouverites during the four-week period and helped drive 704,000 online votes leading to the eventual winner, the Black-capped Chickadee.

About the Canadian Internet Marketing Conference

The conference featured twenty-two internet marketing industry leaders who discussed the shape of digital marketing.
