Artwork from some of Vancouver’s most vulnerable populations will be showcased alongside the work of more established artists at CONNECT, the Gathering Place’s 5th annual art show.

More than 100 works by artists from the Downtown South will be on display, featuring a range of mediums including paintings, photography, sculpture, pottery and mixed media.

The exhibition celebrates its opening night on Thursday, June 6, 2013 from 5:30 – 9:30 pm. Attendees will be have the chance to meet the artists, enjoy refreshments and take in the show.

Hours of operation for the remainder of the exhibition will be:

  • June 7-9 , 12 - 6 pm
  • June 14-16, 12 - 6 pm

Operated by the City of Vancouver, the Gathering Place is the only community centre in Vancouver’s Downtown South which primarily serves vulnerable populations.
This includes those with low income and disabilities, seniors, people of diverse ethnic backgrounds, youth and people who are homeless. The Gathering Place provides accessible and engaging programs and services in areas ranging from recreation and arts to food and health.
