Keep a green theme going beyond the holiday season and recycle or chip your live Christmas tree.

Bring your tree for chipping and donate to charity

In partnership with the Lions Club, on Saturday, January 3 or Sunday January 4 from 10:00am and 4:00pm, bring your Christmas tree, free of decorations to one of the following locations for chipping:

  • Kerrisdale Community Ice Rink parking lot
    5670 East Boulevard (north of 41st Avenue)
  • Kitsilano Beach parking lot
    Cornwall Avenue and Arbutus Street
  • Sunset Beach upper parking lot
    Beach Avenue and Broughton Street
  • Rona Home & Garden (Grandview Store)
    2727 East 12th Avenue (Overflow parking lot north of Grandview Highway, south of 12th Avenue)

Remind the kids that giving back is a year round activity. Bring the whole family.

Donations of cash and non-perishable food items will be accepted and distributed to local charities.

Drop off your tree at the Landfill or Transfer Station

Until January 31, 2015, take your undecorated trees to at no charge to the:

  • Vancouver South Transfer Station
    377 West Kent Avenue North
  • Vancouver Landfill
    5400 72nd Street, Delta

Set out your tree for collection

Until January 31, 2015, set out your Christmas tree at 7:00am on your Green Bin collection day.

Trees should be set out on their own 1 metre clear of your bin(s) and laid on their sides. Please do not bundle or place your tree inside your bin or a bag.
