About the proposal

The City has submitted a rezoning and development application for the existing Fire Hall No. 5 property at 3090 East 54th Avenue.

The proposal would allow for affordable housing to be built above a new, larger fire hall. The building would be six storeys, with the fire hall located in the lower two storeys and affordable housing for low-income, woman-led families and their children in the top four storeys. The roof would have a covered patio and outdoor space for socializing, children's play, and gardening.
