Skimboarding camps extended through September

September 10 2014

For the first time ever, the Vancouver Park Board is offering flatland skimboarding camps during the month of September though the West Point Grey Community Centre.

Children between six and 13 years of age are learning the basics such as proper board toss to sliding smooth rails and popping 360 shoves. Skimboarding camps, which are normally only available July through August, are being offered this September because of favourable tide conditions and to give parents another activity option for their children during the teachers' strike.

Skimboarding supports the Park Board’s Strategic Plan objective for proactive service planning and delivery, as well as the City's Healthy City Strategy.
