Skip the trip to City Hall, pay your taxes online

Vancouver property taxes due July 5

June 29 2021 –

Residential and non-residential property owners are reminded that 2021 property taxes are due for payment by Monday, July 5.

How to pay

Pay online in minutes

To avoid line-ups and delays, you are encouraged to make your payment online.

Pay through your bank

Other ways to pay include via ATM or in-person at a bank (you should be aware of your bank’s transaction cut off times for payments, to ensure your payment reaches us by July 5).

Pay in-person

In-person payment at City Hall is available, but only during business hours (Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5pm); you should be prepared to line up.

Cash payments are not accepted.

Cheque payments can also be dropped off up until 11:59pm on July 5 at City Hall’s secure 24/7 mail slot, located at the south doors off West 12th Avenue.

Penalty for late payments

A penalty will apply to payments we receive after the July 5 due date.

If help is required, call 3-1-1 or chat online with an advisor.

Home owner grant applications now submitted to province

Starting this year, property owners must submit their home owner grant applications directly to the province, not to us.

For questions about the home owner grant, contact the province at 1-888-355-2700.

Deferring property taxes

The province offers a Tax Deferment Program that allows property owners who meet certain eligibility requirements to defer their taxes. To avoid a penalty from us, deferments for 2021 taxes should be completed by July 5.

July 5 final deadline for late 2019 Empty Homes Tax declarations

July 5 is also the last chance for those who missed their Empty Homes Tax declaration for the 2019 tax year to submit a late declaration.

A $375 fine applies to these declarations, as per the Vacancy Tax By-law (305 KB).
