"Today, the Vancouver Police Department made an arrest after an attempted child abduction in Stanley Park,” said Vancouver Park Board Chair John Coupar.
“I would like to thank the Vancouver Police for their sustained efforts and extend my appreciation to the Vancouver Park Rangers who helped the police in their investigations and search. This was a difficult situation for the Vancouver Park Board, the community and visitors concerned about the safety of families visiting the park.”
The attempted abduction in Stanley Park occurred September 4. Park Rangers assisted police in searching for the suspect, and they spotted him in the area of Denman and Robson streets. The man was ultimately arrested in the 1800 block of Alberni Street with the assistance of a citizen.
