Art Phillips Park: Burrard SkyTrain Station upgrade project

The City of Vancouver and Vancouver Park Board have received a proposal from TransLink to upgrade Burrard SkyTrain Station.

Station upgrades

  • Existing station entry on Burrard St to be relocated and expanded to increase capacity
  • Street level stairs and escalators to be moved closer to Dunsmuir St
  • Public open space to be moved closer to Melville St
  • Removal of some trees, to be replaced elsewhere on-site. This will be determined through the review process.

A portion of the park is being redesigned to support downtown open space needs, create connections to the passive space on the west side of the station, and enhance accessibility within the park while addressing the needs of transit users.

Project schedule

Art Phillips Park and Burrard SkyTrain Station will be closed for two years starting in early 2022. A detailed project schedule will be available to the public as soon as it is finalized.
