Rental rates and times
Booking times will vary throughout the year. All rates are subject to change. A 15% discount is offered to registered non-profit organizations for events Monday through Friday. To receive the non-profit discount, a copy of the non-profit certificate must be provided by the renter before booking.
For any 2026 bookings, the 2026 operating hours and rental rates have not been established yet. If you wish to confirm a 2026 booking not knowing the operating hours, a non-refundable reservation fee is required at the time of booking and the 2025 rates can be secured if the outstanding balance is paid for by December 5, 2025.
Booking confirmation
A minimum of 2 weeks (10 business days) advance booking is required. A reservation fee of $333.33 plus GST, is required to confirm a booking. Bookings that provide less than 2-weeks notice are charged an additional last minute booking fee of $160 plus GST. These amounts are non-refundable in the event of a cancellation. Full payment is due 2 months in advance of the scheduled booking and no refunds are provided for events cancelled within 60 days of the scheduled booking.
Capacity
Admission for up to 50 people is included in your rental. A list of all attendees and vendor contact information is required a minimum of 3 weeks (15 business days) prior to the event.
Site amenities
This picturesque setting is wheelchair accessible. Pay parking is available throughout Queen Elizabeth Park and is operated by Easy Park. Seasons in the Park Restaurant is also a short walk away adjacent to the look-out point near the main entrance.
Seating
The facility is standing room only. If needed, the designated area by the Banyan tree can accommodate a maximum of 10 chairs that you can bring in, however, a safe walkway of 1.52 metres (5 feet) is required in case of emergencies.
Setup, takedown, and garbage
Renters are responsible for their own set up and take down within their booking timeframe and all items must be delivered and picked up within the rental time. Facility staff cannot accept deliveries or assist with pickups upon the client's behalf. Garbage and recycling should be properly sorted into 4-stream waste bins located on site. Any additional garbage should be bagged and left next to the bins at the end of the event.
Items not permitted in the Conservatory
No real candles, real or artificial floral petals, mist, fog or foam machines, sparklers, SPFX, strobe lights, strong flash photography, bubbles, confetti, balloons, rice, chocolate, or avocados; inside or outside the Conservatory, as these are harmful to the birds and the sensitive ecosystem of the Conservatory.
Music Entandem fee
An Entandem fee required if live or pre-recorded music is played. This is a music royalty tariff for all rentals with music. Pricing to be determined dependent on rental group size, type of music, activity, and with or without dancing.
Wi-Fi
The Conservatory has free Wi-Fi accessibility; however it is not strong enough for streaming music or video conferencing style events. It can be accessed on the VanWiFi or COV-Public networks and no password is required.
Receptions
Events serving food and beverage are not permitted in or near the facility at any time. Bottled water is permitted. Make sure that all bottles are picked up and placed in recycling bins or taken with you before the end of your event.
Liability insurance
All events require liability insurance with the “City of Vancouver and its Board of Parks and Recreation” named as additional insured. $2 million in liability coverage is required.
Wedding rehearsals
For booked events that wish to arrange a rehearsal, further discussion is required with the Bloedel Conservatory rental department. Depending on availability, a 1-hour rehearsal can be booked, in advance, for a time before we open or after we close to the public, for an additional fee of $290 per hour plus GST. Rehearsals cannot take place during regular operating hours.
Photography
Photography can only take place along the paved pathways. It is strictly prohibited to enter plant beds or enter the areas of the perched birds or to handle the birds in any way. Photography with strobe or strong flashing lights are not permitted as it is harmful to the birds.
Drones
Drone photography and videography is not permitted on site. Make sure your photographers are aware prior to your event.
Smoking
No smoking or vaping permitted on premises.
Animals
Pets are not permitted. Working guide and service dogs are welcome.
