Plan an event
Vancouver parks make a great venue for many special events including weddings, sporting events, picnics, and private recreation activities. Depending on the type of event you are planning, you may need to book the park or have a permit to use it.
A temporary ban on all solid fuelled BBQs (such as wood and charcoal) is now in full effect at all Vancouver parks and beaches. Propane BBQs are permitted.
Book private parties, business meetings and seminars, banquets and receptions, and other special events at Vancouver's golf courses and clubhouses.

The requirements for these events are specific to parks, but of course these are not the only kinds of events you can hold in a park. As well, many other events - such as parades and fun runs - do not take place just within the parks grounds. For information on the planning, permits, and process for these events, see the page Events permits.
The City requires that you carry liability insurance for events or activities that you hold on or in a City and Park Board Property.
