Celebrate Stanley Park

Lord Stanley would be proud! Thanks everyone for celebrating Stanley Park.

Lord StanleyThis weekend thousands of Vancouver residents and visitors came to celebrate Stanley Park’s 125th birthday in style!

You listened to great Canadian rock bands and new opera, took in exciting sports demos, met Mother Nature up close, and feasted on fabulous food and cold beverages.

You watched amazing artists at work, learned fascinating park secrets, went behind the scenes at iconic attractions, and sang along to retro hits.

You danced along with children’s entertainers, viewed classic films, watched exciting theatre, and met cuddly mascots.

And that’s only a few of the 200-plus performances and activities that made up the largest summer festival ever held in Vancouver’s "evergreen heart".

Overall, you rekindled favourite memories of one of the great urban parks in the world, and created new ones at Celebrate! Stanley Park.

A big thank you to all who came to the party, and to our talented performers and participants, hardworking partners, staff and volunteers, and generous sponsors and supporters. We couldn’t have done it without you!

Stanley Park welcomes you all back. Plans a return visit to discover even more – come for an hour, an afternoon, or a day.

The Park Board has played a big part in the city's colourful history. Stanley Park was the city's first park. The evergreen oasis opened 123 years ago when the city's population was only 6,065.
