Swimming pools

Because of ongoing staffing availability challenges, pool visitors may notice last-minute changes to swim session schedules in addition to operational changes.

These changes are being made to ensure patron safety above all else.

Operational changes

Operational changes may include:

• Changing pool length; for example, from 50 metres to 25 metres.
• Important note Effective Sept 11, 2023, all long course (50 m) swims at Hillcrest Aquatic Centre will be temporarily suspended. All patrons wanting to swim in a 50 metres facility should review the Vancouver Aquatic Centre schedule.
• Closing of a pool section(s)
• Length of sessions
• Cancellation of sessions
• Cancellation of lessons (Parents will be notified beforehand and given additional information)

Have a specific question about a drop-in swim session? Contact the facility directly on the day of the scheduled session.
