Small Grant and Critical Assistance Grant: Recipients from previous years

These grants are funded from the City’s capital budget and are intended to support enhancing facilities for the benefit of the entire arts community. They are not designed to provide operating budget support.

Our goal is to invest in existing and future capital assets consistent with Culture|Shift: Blanketing the City in Arts and Culture, Vancouver’s new Culture Plan for 2020-2029, and Making Space for Arts and Culture Vancouver’s new Cultural Infrastructure plan.

Small Grants

The Small Grants support investment for small and time-sensitive projects related to arts and cultural spaces including:

  • Planning
  • Research
  • Minor capital
  • Mentorships
  • Capacity building

This program complements the existing cultural infrastructure grants and provides timely support.

Priority consideration is given to under represented areas of discipline and equity-seeking communities.

Critical Assistance Grants

The Critical Assistance Program is a grant stream of the Cultural Infrastructure Grant Program that can provide up to $25,000 towards repairs or upgrade costs in non-profit cultural spaces.

The goal is to ensure access to safe, legal, and fully functioning cultural spaces in Vancouver.
