Council is committed to making Vancouver a place where all women and girls have full access to the range of services and resources provided by the City.
We also make sure that all women have opportunities to fully participate in the political, economic, cultural and social life of Vancouver.
To recognize and celebrate the important role women play in our community – and promote equality – we have initiated several programs.
How the City supports women and girls
We’re providing young women with an opportunity to learn about civic government and gain mentorship from members of Council.
From June 3 to 6, 2019, the Women Deliver conference is coming to Vancouver.
Women's Equity Strategy
The Women's Equity Strategy aims to make Vancouver a city where all women have full access to resources and opportunities provided in the city.
From 2008 to 2014, the Remarkable Women poster series honoured local women who made significant contributions to arts, culture, sports, and community.
Official celebrations and observances
We recognize and value the contributions of the diverse communities that make Vancouver one of the most livable cities in the world.
