Our vision is to make walking and cycling safe, convenient, comfortable, and fun for people of all ages and abilities. In addition to physical infrastructure like sidewalks and bike lanes, promotion and education initiatives can help us achieve this vision.

Active Transportation Promotion and Enabling Plan (ATPEP)

The Active Transportation Promotion and Enabling Plan (ATPEP): Background Report presents a set of high-level strategies for promotion and encouragement efforts through marketing campaigns, school-based programs, and road user education.

Transportation Demand Management (TDM) Action Plan

The Transportation Demand Management (TDM) Action Plan (823 KB) will guide our transportation promotions and enabling programming in order to encourage more active transportation and transit use, and reduce the number of private vehicle trips.

The plan is part of our Climate Emergency Response and builds off our Active Transportation Promotions and Enabling Plan (2016). 

Walking and Cycling report cards

Our Climate Emergency Action Plan aims to have two-thirds of all trips in Vancouver made by walking, cycling, and transit by 2030. The following report cards highlight current progress made.
