Bridgeway Trail

Bridgeway Slope Rehabilitation

We’re rehabilitating the slope that supports a section of the Trans Canada Trail to the east of Skeena Street and Bridgeway Street.

This vital work includes partially removing an aging wooden structure located underneath the trail, and installing soldier piles and lightweight fill to stabilize the area. There will also be new concrete barriers and fencing installed on the north side of the trail. Once complete, the trail will be safer and more comfortable for everyone.

What's happeningSection of trail is closed

A section of the Trans-Canada Trail is closed for your safety.

Deteriorating conditions of the path, slope, and an aging wooden structure that supports it have made it unsafe for all users. Please continue to use the detour route while construction is underway.

Once complete in spring 2022, the trail will reopen.

The closure is in effect from Bridgeway and North Skeena streets, and extends eastward toward the underside of the Second Narrows Bridge.
