East Fraser Lands (River District) Shoreline Resilience Upgrades

We’re upgrading a segment of the Fraser River to provide flood protection in the East Fraser Lands. This will help to mitigate flooding risks from sea level rise and storm surge events.

Upgrades include the construction of a flood wall and dike along the perimeter of Kinross Park. This work is being coordinated in advance of the 25.2 acres of parks to be constructed by the Vancouver Park Board.

What's happening

Work completed November 2020.

Construction for the flood wall and dike are scheduled in three phases.

  • Phase 1: complete
  • Phase 2: complete
  • Phase 3: spring 2020
