Georgia St water main upgrades

We’re upgrading critical water, sewer, and street infrastructure along sections of West Georgia St from Howe St to Thurlow St.

The existing water main, installed between 1906 and 1909, has reached the end of its service life and needs to be replaced following a series of recent leaks. The new water main will last approximately 100 years.

What's happening

Starting in January 2020, we'll begin replacing the existing water main that is more than 100 years old. Work will begin on Georgia St at Howe St and proceed west.

The work also includes repairing the road damaged as a result of the water main construction and sidewalk restoration where required.
