Kitsilano Beach Park bike path

The Vancouver Park Board is seeking a solution to the worn, diagonal path on the west edge of Kitsilano Beach Park. The informal path connects to the Balsam Street portion of the Point Grey bike path.

In 2015, Park Board staff installed a temporary orange snow-fence to prevent people on bikes from short-cutting across the park. However, this re-routing resulted in safety concerns from park users and cyclists.

What's happening

On November 29, 2016, we held an open house for you to learn about the two options to replace the diagonal path and give your feedback. The proposed options are designed to respect the safety and accessibility needs of all users.

We asked what you thought about the two options in an online questionnaire from November 29, 2016, to January 16, 2017. Thank you to everyone who shared their views. We are currently summarizing the feedback we received.
