STAFF REPORTS
Work of the Dog Strategy Task Force
- Update
The six member, citizen-based Dog Strategy
Task Force was created in May 2006 to review
and make recommendations about urban dogs.
The group continued to experience challenges
on reaching consensus and had not found common
ground to move forward to a draft strategy.
The Board concluded the work of the Dog Strategy
Task Force, with thanks, and requested staff
to prepare a summary report as soon as possible
on findings to-date.
Cottage Hospice Lease Renewal
The Board received an information report on
the 10-year lease renewal for the Cottage
Hospice in Burrardview Park. This heritage
building offers care for terminally ill adults
as well as meeting facilities for the local
Hastings community.
MOTION
The Board put forward a Motion to reorganize
the Park Board's committee governance structure
to enable inclusive participation and voting,
and establish one Committee with membership
as follows: Marty Zlotnik (Chair), Loretta
Woodcock, Ian Robertson, Korina Houghton,
Spencer Herbert, Heather Holden and Allan
DeGenova. The Motion was deferred to the
December 10th Board meeting.
