Archival Films

For over a century the Vancouver Park Board has evolved into one of the most beautiful recreation and park systems in the world. There is no better way to chart our course as a society than looking back through the generations that have come before, either at special celebratory events or enjoying seasonal moments such as an unexpected snowfall.

With the permission of the Vancouver City Archives, the Park Board has received digital copies of some short films made at park and recreation facilities during the 1960s and earlier. These snippets of history allow us to quickly glimpse special moments in time when our city was younger and our pleasures perhaps more simple.
